Parks Commissions

Sproat Lake and Bamfield both have Parks Commissions made up of local residents who aid the service delivery of the Sproat Lake and Bamfield Community Parks, such as:

  • Community parkland acquisition opportunities
  • Trail and park development
  • Environmental enhancement

  • Regional Parks Working Group

    A Regional Parks Working Group was established in 2024 to guide, advise, and support the development, management, and promotion of regional parks within the ACRD. This group is intended to include representation from local user groups as well as general representation of electoral areas and municipalities throughout the ACRD.

    Current Regional Parks include: the West Coast Multiuse Pathway, the Log Train Trail, the Alberni Inlet Trail (Stage 1 and Stage 2), China Creek Regional Park, and Mount Arrowsmith Regional Park.

    The Terms of Reference of the Working Group set the maximum number of members at 20. The group is currently full. If you are interested in joining this group please email mmcgregor@acrd.bc.ca to join a waitlist. If you would like to be a delegation to present on a topic to the Regional Parks Working Group please email mmcgregor@acrd.bc.ca.
