Public Participation in ACRD Meetings
In an effort to make ACRD open Board and Committee meetings more accessible to the public, the Regional District provides various ways watch meetings and participate.
You can watch all open ACRD Board and Committee meetings live on the ACRD's website as well as watch previous meeting's recordings. To watch meetings live:
- Go to the ACRD home page
- Go to the calendar on the left side of the home page
- Click on the meeting date you wish to participate in; this takes you to the meeting page
- Click on the YouTube link to watch the meeting
In-Person Attendance
The public are welcome to attend open Board meetings in-person in the ACRD Board Room at 3008 Fifth Avenue, Port Alberni, BC.Zoom Webinar Attendance
If you wish to participate in an ACRD Board or Committee meeting by Zoom you can register to participate on the ACRD website as follows:
- Go to the ACRD home page
- Go to the calendar on the left side of the home page
- Click on the meeting date you wish to participate in
- Click on the "PUBLIC REGISTER HERE" link and register to participate
- You will receive an email with participation instructions
Public Input Period
The public is welcome to provide input on agenda items at the beginning of Board and Committee meetings.Question Period
The public is welcome to ask questions about matters included on the agenda or discussed during the meeting.Individuals wishing to address the Board/Committee on an agenda item must:
- state their name and civic street (ex. I am Joe Johnsan, and I live on Granville Road);
- restrict comments to only matters on the agenda;
- state the agenda item(s) they wish to comment on;
- not utilize video, presentation, handouts or props;
- stay within 3 minutes; and
- not speak more than once, unless all others who wish to speak have spoken within the time allotted.
